This is a great tv and I am not going to spend time on different aspects of this tv. Go to [.....] and read full review. However,I would like to report one thing as all buyers who buy Panasonic 850 series with Viera cast feature would need. I do not have Ethernet connection close to where I have installed tv. I have bought Apple Airport Express and configured it with home wireless network successfully. I am sure there are other solutions but this is something I can say with confidence that it works! Excellent price/delivery from Vanns/Yellow freight. Great TV, games and movies via PS3 amazing, sound is so good that I won't be buying a theater system anytime soon. Standard TV is ok too, better then I expected eventhough I'm less then 8ft away. Glare is somewhat of an issue during the day and night viewing with lights on, but it's ok and I will get used to it. Viera cast is easy to setup and have been using it to check the weather and look at u-tube videos. All in all perfect so far.

I also want to comment on Vanns excellent customer service. I placed the order on 09/02/08 and it was delivered on the 8th. During that time Vanns dropped the price a couple of times, a quick email to them and they promptly credited my amazon CC. I thought that was pretty classy.

5 Stars Go for TH-PZ850U
Folks, this is a great TV. By spending few hundred dollars more, you will get the best from Panasonic. Here is why I would recommend you to buy it:

1) Great sound. It has 4 speakers and a subwoofer which makes it a unique set as compared to other panasonic plasma TVs except for TH-PZ800U which I believe also has same number of speakers. With this TV you wont need an external surround sound system.

2) Viera Cast Feature- I just love the new web interface introduced in this particular model.

a)Download all your digital pictures at Picasa Web Album and watch it on big screen TV with a sweet background score as you watch the slide show. Share your pictures with your guests at home on big screen.

B) Watch U tube videos on big screen. Its so much fun.

c) Watch Bloomberg updates on your TV.

d) Panasonic is currently working to add more.

3) AVCHD compatible for 1080p video camcorders

4) Picture quality is extremely good with Native contrast ratio 30,000:1 and Dynamic Contrast Ratio of 1,000,000:1 this is the highest contrast ratio available in the current market on a plasma TV.

If you can afford to pay few hundred dollars more, you get the best technology out there from Panasonic.

It was easy to set up, even though I am just using it as a monitor it has a great picture plus it looks great in our room. We used the SD slot and software to show a group of our family pictures from our vacation. i am using the SD slot to have a screensaver of my choice.

5 Stars THE BEST HDTV
I bought this TV at Best Buy and paid quite a bit more for it than what you see here. I am thrilled with this TV and is quite a bargain on Amazon. I have cable and a DVD with HDMI and it was a snap to connect and start watching from the get-go.

It is a beautiful TV, and now I am addicted to the larger size widescreen HDTV's. The 800 series of this TV is excellent, and has the best sound ever. No need for a home theatre, DVD and Blu Ray plays BEAUTIFULLY. I bought the expensive calibration service which I think was a waste of money, as the TV is easy to adjust right out of the box. I have my own perferences, and after it was calibrated, I never even used the Custom setting (that is where they put the "calibrated" settings) and went back to my own "Standard" settings after the calibration. I turned off the NR setting, put the black level to "light" and turned off the C.A.T.S. settings on the "Picture" menu. Keeping the black level to "light" and turning off C.A.T.S setting makes a big difference in the clarity of the picture, and makes the adjustment of brightness and contrast more accurate. It takes a bit of fussing, but you can get a perfect picture, all by yourself. I love this TV, and plan to buy a 800 series in the 50 inch, also. Both these series are pretty future proof, and will probably be the last TV's I buy.

I have read that keeping the Contrast and Brightness down to 50 for about 30 days before revving it up any higher will "prime" the TV and actually make it last longer. The 800 series of the Panasonic Plasma has my highest recommendation.

P.S. Be aware that there is some reflection issues with the larger TV, just because they are able to reflect things like lamps over a broader space. This is the nature of big screen TV's I am afraid. However, I have a Sony LCD (the best) and I still prefer the Plasma..far better picture.
