5 Stars Very pleased
Shipping by TAF was prompt and within promised window, with evening delivery. Both the box and TV have hand grips. Pedestal assembly easy. TV weighs less than a CRT half its screen size! Actually fits a built-in space that seemed suitable for nothing bigger than a 37", until I carefully considered all the measurements.

Instructions in clear English (or you can learn equivalent Spanish and French). Assembled in Mexico, rather than China. Remote control is very well balanced. Buttons "fall right to hand," but are not designed for fat fingers. Frame has the shiny black finish of a grand piano.

The picture is beautiful compared to a standard analog tube, even before HD service. Text and scrollers are really sharp. No screen-lag in action scenes. Regular DVDs played on an upconverting player are smashing at 720p, and could hardly improve on a 1080i or 1080p TV (Blu-Ray discs would be a different matter). Anti-glare protection is somewhat effective. Three different wide-screen modes for use when viewing regular 4:3 shows (two of them make everyone look like big, ah, linemen).

4 Stars Solid TV
I was given this TV as a gift - man, what a gift. It's a beautiful specimen. Not too huge, just a sleek, standard HDTV. I am not really blown away by the incredible picture - although it's crisp and much clearer than normal tv. It's great, don't get me wrong. But i'm not sure it's really improved my overall television viewing experience. But i digress - it's a great tv, picture is mighty fine, but i did have a really bad experience with the delivery. The folks that J&R hired to deliver the tv - Urban Express - did a crap job. I was supposed to get the white glove service - where they delivery the tv and also hook up to your cable and install the tv, etc - but instead, got something quite different. The 2 guys come in, they take the tv out of the cardboard box, attach the base, and place the tv on my tv stand. As they start to leave, i ask them if they can help me hook up/connect the TV and make sure the HD portion works to maximum effectiveness (because this was the service we paid extra for - delivery and white glove service). Well, long story short, they said sorry, can't help you, that will be an extra $168 or something. I quizically say ok, well thanks but no thanks, and they take off. So - idiot that i am - i spend 25 minutes trying to set up the damn tv, with no luck, and then lo and behold the guys come back to apologize and say they were really responsible for setting up and connecting the tv. They come back inside, futz around for 10 minutes, and proclaim "sorry - we don't know how to set this up." They say they have to get a "specialist" to help. 1 hour later, they're back with the new guy, who takes 30 seconds to get everything up and running. So the delivery guys really sucked in my opinion. Ha - all good now!

5 Stars First HDTV?
If you're purchasing (or thinking about purchasing) this TV, chances are, this is your first venture into the wonderful world of HDTV's. This was the case with me. I'll keep it short. I got this tv for around 765, shipping included. This TV was SO worth it. I haven't regretted the purchase for 1 moment. The black levels are deep, the colors are vibrant, and there are no false contours that I have been able to perceive. All things I was worried about before the purchase. I could not tell you the difference between a 1080 and 720 on the 42" screen. The picture is impeccable. If you have the money and are wondering if the purchase is worth it, just know that this TV completely satisfied my needs. And if you're new to the HDTV world, it will satisfy yours, too. (Just do it... )

1 Star Horrible Experience
I bought this TV from adorama through amazon. After connecting to power outlet, I watched this TV only for 10 minutes. After that, it turned off automatically. I tried connecting to different power outlets and it doesn't work. Once, it turns off, the remote also doesn't work. I requested for an exchange/return to adorama and they said they cannot take it back because of their return policies. So, I called panasonic customer care, and since they couldn't help me in fixing through phone, they sent their authorized dealers (Advanced Electronic)to pick up the TV to fix it.

They came and took the TV by Oct. 20, and still now they have not fixed it. I tried calling them several times and they are not picking up the phone, and I called panasonic customer care center to get the status. Even they couldn't help me for last two weeks. It's been around a month, I bought this TV and not even watched it for 10 minutes. I will not suggest this TV to anyone. It's horrible experience.

5 Stars PERFECT PICTURE
THIS NEW PLASMA PANASONIC REPLACED A 1 YR OLD VIZIO LCD 32 INCH AND WOW WHAT A DIFFERENCE! IM NOT GOING TO GO INTO THE SPECS OF THE PANASONIC(WHICH YOU CAN FIND EASILY BY OTHER REVIEWS AND PRODUCT DESCRIPTION), BUT I MUST SAY I LOVE THIS TV. IT HAS A MUCH BETTER, BRIGHTER, CLEARER PICTURE THAN MY VIZIO. THE SET UP WAS EASIER AS WELL...I TOOK IT OUT OF THE BOX, PUT THE STAND ON, RUN A HDMI TO MY HDTV CABLE RECORDER, PLUGGED IN TO ELECTRICAL SURGE PROTECTOR AND PRESSED THE POWER BUTTON...I DID NOT ADJUST ANY SETTINGS...AND WAS AMAZED AT THE QUALITY OF THE PICTURE. I CAN STOP WATCHING TV NOW...WHICH IS THE ONLY DRAWBACK(LOL). I RESEARCHED HDTV'S FOR SEVERAL DAYS AND ALMOST BOUGHT THE SAMSUNG, BUT THE PANASONIC HAD A BETTER PRICE. GET THIS TV AND YOU WILL NOT HAVE ANY REGRETS. BTW, I HAVE OWNED IT FOR ABOUT 3 MONTHS AND HAD NO PROBS AT ALL.

2 Stars HDMI PROBLEMS...
I bought this tv based upon the reviews I read here...great start hdtv for the $$. The set worked great for about 2 weeks then I started having problems with the HDMI connected components. The cable tv hdmi connection would often have a "No Signal" response on the set and this would only be corrected by turning on the second HDMI component (a dvd player). Seems like there is a serious problem with the HDMI board. In any case, after a couple months, Toshiba replaced the HDMI board (under warranty), but sadly (after a 25 day repair time-frame), the same problem ensued. Basically, I'd be cautious buying this set if you plan to plug in more than one HDMI component. Great picture and decent sound when it is actually working.

5 Stars Toshiba 32 inch LCD HDTV
This television took very little time to get it set up and viewable. The tv arrived, was unboxed and within 15 minutes was being used. We used this tv as a stand alone but it is made to be able to put on the wall. Everything fit well and all parts and pieces were accounted for. The flat screen makes it much easier to watch because there is not the distortion of the picture of the other types of tvs. It is HD capable but at this time we are not using this function. If we were to need another television in the house, we would not hesitate to buy another.

5 Stars Great Television For the Price
I picked this TV up at a local Circuit City Outlet for a STEAL, and I mean a STEAL!

This TV has great picture quality and great component connections.

Granted it is not 1080P, but as a secondary office TV it is GREAT!

This TV easily compares to the TV's that are priced at 650 to 800 dollars (Sony, Samsung, etc.).

Instructions are easy to use, and setup is a snap. The only con of this TV is the warm up time during the initial power on.

Toshiba offers a 1 year warranty on Products and Labor. Extended warranties are typically offered through resellers, but it may or may not be required depending on the user, etc.

Pros: Easy to read manual, many component connections, great picture quality, good sound.

Cons: TV takes a while to warm up when initial turn on.

1 Star TOSHIBA KILLS SANTA
NOTE: this is a general review of Toshiba's customer service center. Should you have any concerns about what may happen when or if you tv breaks, this is the chaos and frustration you will find in dealing with them. Please go with a different brand...

We bought a TV/DVD combo from Toshiba as a gift from Santa last year for my 8-year old so that she could watch her Full House and Lizzie McGuire movies on it in her bedroom. Unfortunately, after 4 months, the tv's picture stopped working. She told me to send it back to Santa, so off it went to our local authorized Toshiba repairman, as you cannot return these items to Amazon after a certain period of time. We were told by Toshiba that the tv was under full warranty for parts and service. The repairman said no. We would have to pay at least $80 in service repairs. Well, it's been six months and we have yet to see our tv. The part that was supposedly broken was out of stock. Toshiba has sent out part after part after part...spending more in shipping and parts I'm sure than we actually paid for the tv. Now they are shipping out their 4th part...and we still have no tv and it's November. NOTE: the Toshiba representatives were rude and their supervisor (Dave Thomson) was scripted and condescending. TOSHIBA DOES NOT STAND BY THEIR PRODUCT AND DOES NOT HELP ITS CUSTOMERS.

My daughter got so upset that Santa didn't return her tv that we had to buy her another tv a few months ago. Then, she overheard one of the numerous heated discussions between my husband and Toshiba. Every time my husband called, we were told the issue would be "escalated". The representatives are scripted and said whatever they could to passify us. In the end, we were told by Toshiba's supervisor (Dave Thomson) that this was their final decision...to just continue to keep trying to fix an inferior product with no hope that it may get fixed. By the time we get the tv back, if we get it back, it will no longer be under warranty.

In the end, with no return of her original tv and the numerous phone calls to/from Toshiba, my daughter finally got the clue and realized Santa doesn't exist. Thanks Toshiba. MAY NO PARENT EVER RELY ON YOUR PRODUCT AGAIN! THE TECHNOLOGY IS LOUSY AND YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS AN EMBARRASSMENT! GIVEN HOW TIGHT CONSUMERS' WALLETS ARE THIS SEASON, I HOPE PEOPLE LOOK PASSED YOUR BRAND AND SELECT A BETTER CHOICE.

FYI...When we purchased the tv, it was not made clear to us that it would be outdated within 14 months with the switch to digital.

Happy Holidays from a very dissatisfied customer.

5 Stars Great first HDTV
I purchased this TV from a big box store three days ago; I am not disappointed.

This is my first HDTV, upgrading from a 12 year old Sony 27" Trinitron tube. The picture quality on this Toshiba set on HD sources is great. ESPN HD, NFL football, HBO HD, my XBox 360 all look great. Colors pop.

Non HD sources look nice as well. My Digital Cable box (Time Warner) is connected via a HDMI cable. Non hi-def stations (like Comedy Central) look wonderful (and every bit as good, if not better, than my old set). This Toshiba includes a "DNR" setting (Digital Noise Reduction) which cleans up standard def sources. The picture looks smooth and colorful, not splotchy and downgraded.

Some people have complained about the set needing several seconds to turn on. It does, but I doubt most people will be bothered by it. It takes 5 to 7 seconds.

One caveat. The factory presets on this set aren't ideal. The blacks were slightly washed out and flesh tones a little too orange for my liking. But after going through a THX Optimization (available on every Disney DVD), it looks great. Blacks are much deeper and flesh tones are appropriately pink.

This may not be the best LCD set on the market, but it is very good. In my opinion, it offers a better picture than the Sony KDL-32L4000 and costs significantly less. I found it for $[...] and am thrilled.

5 Stars Only 65" LCD in the market, best one in Aquos LCD line
This TV is so far everything I expected. The Sharp Aquos line took a big dump years ago when they started to redesign and replace parts with cheaper ones. This new generation Shar Aquos is back to its original standards. I have this unit mounted on the wall of my entertainment center and its the perfect size. This is the only available LCD on the 65" range. About the 120hz hype, I've seen the next generation of this model with the 120hz Spider Man 3 on Blu-ray and there IS ABSOLUTELY NO DIFFERENCE. What the other makes are advertizing as 120hz true motion is different. This is manipulating the image to eliminate all possible blur natural to LCDs when watching cinema (24 frames per second) movies. If you have any doubts, go to a Frys or BestBuy and watch a TV playing a movie with 120hz true motion enabled. It makes movies look fake, as if you are watching a video game or a soap opera. It takes you out of the movie. Your grinch reflex will be overworked scene by scene. Sharp has had 120hz refresh rates for years and they look the same as 40hz (this model). Don't be taken up by the marketing fad on this feature and be suckered to pay an extra $3000. In my opinion, the next generation on this size by Aquos is plain ugly. The frame looks like is covered in leather, with four hidious chrome squares on each corner. This model has a slick piano-like frame finish with very elegant and contemporary lines. Overal, it is a great TV. Make sure you have at least 14 feet of separation between the TV and the seating area.

I recommend this product highly.

5 Stars Sharp Aquos LC65D64U - Amazing HDTV!
We purchased the Sharp Aquos LC65D64U in early February, and have found the picture and everything else about this HDTV nothing short of amazing. We shopped extensively and looked at many other large screen flat panels, and nothing compares to this for the money. (Actually, I don't know how anyone could want a more beautiful picture at any price.)

We used our existing high-end surround sound speaker system (originally purchased several years ago for use with a Sony 60-inch rear projection TV, which was great in its day), but upgraded our old surround sound receiver to a new Yamaha RXV863 receiver to complement the newer digital technology. We have the Sharp mounted on the wall, and use a Playstation 3 for Blu-ray movies and a Cox HDTV cable box with DVR for HDTV reception, recording, and playback. We also have a Wii player connected, and its images also look great with this HDTV.

This Sharp HDTV was delivered via Amazon's standard truck carrier, and arrived on time in perfect condition.

This is one great HDTV. We highly recommend it!

5 Stars 65" AQUOS...need I say more
We have a large room with lots of windows so had to go LCD over plasma. I have not complaints over this tv. Picture is amazing, even wathching Hi Def sports channels. The price goes up and down, but keep watching it and go for the 65 over the 50's any day.

2 Stars Great picture but noxious fumes
The picture is beautiful, but the fumes from the set are noxious.

The odor gets overpowering and nauseating after the TV is on for a short while. We turn the set off and air out the living room. I am trying to research whether the fumes are a health hazard or not, but it certainly does impair our enjoyment of this two-month old set.

We can also feel the heat radiating off the 65"screen.

We have a 42" Sharp LCD Aguos set also with no odor or heat problem. We bought the 65" model based on our good experience with the smaller set.

I intend to contact Sharp and hear what they have to say about it.

This model's volume control function doesn't work until after the set is on for a minute. After that it works fine.

Considering the price of this set, these problems should not exist. Be forewarned.

5 Stars Sharp LCD 65 inch HDTV great value
This set worked great out of the box. I am very pleased with picture and sound, as well as the price available on line. I used the Sanus wall mount kit recommended for the LC65D64U. It fits very close to the wall, looks good. Be warned that the bolts furnished by Sanus do not fit the set (Use metric M10-mm30) also had to file the slots in the mount bracket slightly wider to allow for the bolts to fit. I know there are some feature on much more expensive models that might sound neat but for a basic set with a great picture I could not see a cost benefit with another more expensive set.

4 Stars Solid TV for the price
First off, yes I do see banding on vertical and horizontal pans with solid bright back grounds. Its not that bad and if I had never gone on to the AVS forum I would probably never had noticed it. If stuff like that bothers you then don't buy this TV or any other LCD TV in this price range. They all have some sort of artifact type issues. If you don't want any artifacts or motion blur then go plasma. You can go 120hz on a LCD but your going to pay a lot more money for the same TV with a higher refresh rate.

The good...

I think Sharp has the best overall HD picture and color compared to any other TV in this price range. The colors are fantastic and I like the fact that you can fine tune the TV to your hearts desire. Black levels look good as well. The TV cabinet is well designed and the sound quality is good. SD channels look alright, better then most of the sets that I have seen out there. There is some motion blur on sports but not near as bad as the entry level Sony and Samsung TVs.

The bad...

As I stated before it does having banding. Don't fool yourself into thinking you will get one with out it, they all have it. I mostly notice it when I am watching football and the camera does a fast side to side pan. I have read that a lot of people have problems watching hockey because banding that is caused by the ice. The remote is not very good. It wont control my Phillips DVD player or my Sony receiver. For some strange reason it does work with my Motorola cable box.

If it weren't for the banding this would be a 5 star TV. I have had it for about 3 weeks now with no other technical issues. I will update this review if any think changes

Cheers

4 Stars Nice....But, a few issues others failed to mention
Just got this TV yesterday. Was actually shopping for a DVD upconverter. But decided to upgrade the 2 yr old Insignia 32" 720p.

I like the quick/easy approach, so the First thing I noticed when I tried to hook up my surround speakers was that there is no Headphone jack! Even though that is mentioned on Amazon in the description as a feature. So now I hope I can find some type of cable to convert the RCA outputs for My speaker system. I don't expect to upgrade to a new surround setup just for that. If I find any other workaround I'll let you know.

Also I was trying to figure out if I had the latest firmware revision. The manual says to go to Menu/Digital Setup/Identification. Well, how about...this option doesn't exist! So I don't know if I need an update or not. I suppose I have to guess. (I only get the software update option.)

This upscales Std Defn. better than most TVs I have seen, not as grainy. But I am still having a tough time adjusting the greens out of this thing just like the one I noticed in the BB store. I hoped it was just the way they had adjusted theirs. Also, it is amazing how different the video looks based on the source material. For instance, I was watching a News broadcast the first night and they had 2 interviewees on a split screen. It was amazing how degraded and molten one half of the screen looked and the other half looked decent.

Speaking of which, the blacks, yes they are very black, but my picture often looks too black. I have tried adjusting contrast and brightness various ways, but I'll still get a scene where I feel like it's too dark to see the action. No banding yet. Maybe it's just me.

I am planning to try one of those "Digital Video Essentials" DVD's that were mentioned on one of the forums.

One other thing I seldom see mentioned. These make the most AWESOME PC monitors!! I love seeing my photos so large and using MediaPlayer visuals! I don't ever see much info on this type of usage. But that RS232 jack is Gold in my book. It was even amazing on my old 32". But I did expect this newer, higher-end TV to handle a resolution finer than 1024x768. Hope I just missed a setting somewhere. I'll call Cust. Svc. this week and check them out.

Good luck All !

4 Stars Great tv
Beautiful picture, but then our last "new" tv was 10 years old. Only complaint - it will not pick up most of the current digital stations offered by our local channels. Sharp says the problem is with our antenna, which is not that old.

5 Stars Very Pleased
The TV is great , the delivery was outstanding and the delivery was on time

1 Star Save your money, buy a Sony
I've wanted an HDTV for a long time. Ever since I set my eyes on the crisp picture and vibrant color that high definition had to offer I was determined to have one. So after years of waiting and saving I finally decided I was going to take the plunge. I took the time to do my research and after a month or so of comparing reviews and staring aimlessly at in store floor models I decided that the Sharp Aquos 46 inch LCD HDTV was exactly what I was looking for. After all, it was a quality product that got great reviews at a comparable price, how could I possibly go wrong?

After I bought my television I took it home and carefully unpacked it, plugged it, turned it on and basked in all the glory that Sharp had to offer. For a short time, the relationship was a good one. I came home and it dazzled me with a crisp fluid picture, superior sound, and a full 1080p resolution, I was in love. A whole new world was at my finger tips, Dirty Jobs never looked so dirty, I was totally smitten. Then suddenly without notice, everything changed.

The screen went black and the sound went off. This happened in 20 to 25 minute intervals. Frustrated, I did what every good consumer would do, I called customer support. Naturally they walked me through all the obvious troubleshooting steps, is the TV on? Is the power chord plugged in? Is the sleep timer on? No, no and no. Twenty five wasted Verizon minutes later they decided they were going to send out a tv repair man to resolve the issue. Keep in mind, at this point I'd owned the TV for one month. The repairman determined (on the phone) the problem was the circuit board. How can you determine the solution to a problem without physically diagnosing it? Initially, after the parts were replaced everything went smoothly. The TV, by all accounts, was running full steam...at least for a little while.

Within three days, the screen went black and the sound went off...again. I sat on my couch perplexed, how could Sharp put out such a subpar product? What ever happened to the customers always right? After all I owned the product for little over a month, don't I deserve a new television? I guess not. Suffice to say I'm not happy. Tomorrow I'll call Sharp again, and most likely they'll be sending out ANOTHER repairman to not fix my television. So if I could give you one piece of advice it's this, save your money and by a Sony.

5 Stars Great picture, but needs some tweaking out of the box
This is a terrific large flat panel TV. The sharpness and color is exceptional. The factory defaults were too saturated, however, and took some adjustment.

4 Stars Could be better
Almost all in this TV is right, the only one problem that I can see is the black color "it have not realism" as the others colors, therefore, for the money that paid I think could live with it.

5 Stars Wow
After it arrived, we could not believe the clarity and the quality it presented. We are very pleased with this purchase.

1 Star very expensive mistake
Sharp Aquos LC52D64U is horrible, it was delivered 3 weeks ago and I have spent all my tv viewing time since trying to tweak it.

Impossible to get colors right and when you get close on one channel, you invariably have to re-adjust on next channel.

Picture is only clear on up close shots, as soon as video switches to a medium to distant shot , all is out of focus. Same for DVD'S. My old Panosonic 32 inch CRT has 10 times better picture and I have never had to adjust the settings....ever!

Sharp support was no help, they stated that this was a HDTV and I could not expect to get a decent picture on non-HD channels. This is unbelievable, why would anyone buy a TV that you can only watch 6 channels or so, out of 200. Besides the HD channels only are clear on close up shots also, anything else is out of focus.

I will give Sharp one more chance/call and then I will send this item back, as my return window will expite shortly.

4 Stars Sharp Aquos LC52D64U
After careful use and adequate shakedown time, I find this LCD TV remarkably great. It is sharp and the visual angels of view are equally great. However, the black shiny plastic bezels is easy to scratch, and cannot be cleaned well due to this fact. Secondly the display is not as bright as it should be. Most images are darker when compared to other LCD screens.
