5 Stars Only 65" LCD in the market, best one in Aquos LCD line
This TV is so far everything I expected. The Sharp Aquos line took a big dump years ago when they started to redesign and replace parts with cheaper ones. This new generation Shar Aquos is back to its original standards. I have this unit mounted on the wall of my entertainment center and its the perfect size. This is the only available LCD on the 65" range. About the 120hz hype, I've seen the next generation of this model with the 120hz Spider Man 3 on Blu-ray and there IS ABSOLUTELY NO DIFFERENCE. What the other makes are advertizing as 120hz true motion is different. This is manipulating the image to eliminate all possible blur natural to LCDs when watching cinema (24 frames per second) movies. If you have any doubts, go to a Frys or BestBuy and watch a TV playing a movie with 120hz true motion enabled. It makes movies look fake, as if you are watching a video game or a soap opera. It takes you out of the movie. Your grinch reflex will be overworked scene by scene. Sharp has had 120hz refresh rates for years and they look the same as 40hz (this model). Don't be taken up by the marketing fad on this feature and be suckered to pay an extra $3000. In my opinion, the next generation on this size by Aquos is plain ugly. The frame looks like is covered in leather, with four hidious chrome squares on each corner. This model has a slick piano-like frame finish with very elegant and contemporary lines. Overal, it is a great TV. Make sure you have at least 14 feet of separation between the TV and the seating area.

I recommend this product highly.

5 Stars Sharp Aquos LC65D64U - Amazing HDTV!
We purchased the Sharp Aquos LC65D64U in early February, and have found the picture and everything else about this HDTV nothing short of amazing. We shopped extensively and looked at many other large screen flat panels, and nothing compares to this for the money. (Actually, I don't know how anyone could want a more beautiful picture at any price.)

We used our existing high-end surround sound speaker system (originally purchased several years ago for use with a Sony 60-inch rear projection TV, which was great in its day), but upgraded our old surround sound receiver to a new Yamaha RXV863 receiver to complement the newer digital technology. We have the Sharp mounted on the wall, and use a Playstation 3 for Blu-ray movies and a Cox HDTV cable box with DVR for HDTV reception, recording, and playback. We also have a Wii player connected, and its images also look great with this HDTV.

This Sharp HDTV was delivered via Amazon's standard truck carrier, and arrived on time in perfect condition.

This is one great HDTV. We highly recommend it!

5 Stars 65" AQUOS...need I say more
We have a large room with lots of windows so had to go LCD over plasma. I have not complaints over this tv. Picture is amazing, even wathching Hi Def sports channels. The price goes up and down, but keep watching it and go for the 65 over the 50's any day.

2 Stars Great picture but noxious fumes
The picture is beautiful, but the fumes from the set are noxious.

The odor gets overpowering and nauseating after the TV is on for a short while. We turn the set off and air out the living room. I am trying to research whether the fumes are a health hazard or not, but it certainly does impair our enjoyment of this two-month old set.

We can also feel the heat radiating off the 65"screen.

We have a 42" Sharp LCD Aguos set also with no odor or heat problem. We bought the 65" model based on our good experience with the smaller set.

I intend to contact Sharp and hear what they have to say about it.

This model's volume control function doesn't work until after the set is on for a minute. After that it works fine.

Considering the price of this set, these problems should not exist. Be forewarned.

5 Stars Sharp LCD 65 inch HDTV great value
This set worked great out of the box. I am very pleased with picture and sound, as well as the price available on line. I used the Sanus wall mount kit recommended for the LC65D64U. It fits very close to the wall, looks good. Be warned that the bolts furnished by Sanus do not fit the set (Use metric M10-mm30) also had to file the slots in the mount bracket slightly wider to allow for the bolts to fit. I know there are some feature on much more expensive models that might sound neat but for a basic set with a great picture I could not see a cost benefit with another more expensive set.

2 Stars Picture is fine, but Lag time between channels is painful
Just received my lc32d64u this week!

I cannot tell if the unit is supposed to do this, or its faulty, but when I switch channels, there is a lag, I see a black screen then the new channel with the info in the top right corner.

That is frustrating.

Does anyone else have this issue??

5 Stars Outstanding HDTV
The sharp aquos (32")was the perfect size for the room I bought it for. The setup was easy, the picture is great (even with the sun shinning on it).

I would higly recommend this product to anyone for a small room that wants a quality product at a reasonable price.

5 Stars Fantastic Viewing
I purchased this TV when it first became available. I was prepared to purchase the earlier version but I knew that the this model, if it became available, would work better for me. I live and travel full-time in a fifth wheel trailer. My available space is restrictive. I knew that the reduction in depth and bezel dimensions would make installation much easier. I intitially set it up using the base provided. The set worked beautifully as soon as I plugged it in and hooked up my HD satellite service. The HD version of the weather channel is so clear that you think your viewing it live in the studio. Reception of HD over the air channels is amazing using the standard antenna that came with my camper. I can make a comparison with my daughter's 42 inch Panasonic Plasma. The Aquos is superior at comparable distances. I echo the other reviews that talk about the crispness of the picture. I am glad is waited for this latest technology by Sharp. Before starting my summer travels I make custom mounting using a standard arm. I enlarged the wall TV opening to fit flush to the TV with 1/4 inch foam rubber on all sides to cushion road travel. I have traveled 3000 miles since installation.

5 Stars A Crisp Compact LCD TV
This is my second Sharp Aquos LCD TV. The first one was a 30" that required a set top box to drive it. It lasted five years before suddenly failing. This unit, compared to it, has a much sharper picture and the controls are very easy to use. It is super easy to change the aspect ratio and the picture is very crisp and clear with good color balance. I use Dish Net with S-video signal input into the unit. It is also connected to a Sony tuner, Toshiba DVD player/recorder and VHS Tape player To this point I am very happy with the unit but if one fails after warantee period be prepared to pay big bucks for repair. In my case it was cheaper to buy a new set rather than repair my old set top.

5 Stars WOW
The Sharp Aquos LC32D64U 32-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV is an amazing TV. I could not be happier. The picture on the HD channels is so realistic that I get motion sickness when watching cycling! I can't wait for the winter Olympics! The picture on the regular channels is great. What can I say about the sound? I am hearing sounds that I have never heard from my TV before. When I am in another room (and the TV is on), I have to go into the living room to see what I'm hearing. Buy this TV you will not be sorry.

I was shocked at how fast Electronic Express got this TV to my house. I placed my Amazon order on Sunday 09/28/08 and I had the TV by Wednesday 10/01/08. Thank you Amazon and Electronic Express!

4 Stars Solid TV for the price
First off, yes I do see banding on vertical and horizontal pans with solid bright back grounds. Its not that bad and if I had never gone on to the AVS forum I would probably never had noticed it. If stuff like that bothers you then don't buy this TV or any other LCD TV in this price range. They all have some sort of artifact type issues. If you don't want any artifacts or motion blur then go plasma. You can go 120hz on a LCD but your going to pay a lot more money for the same TV with a higher refresh rate.

The good...

I think Sharp has the best overall HD picture and color compared to any other TV in this price range. The colors are fantastic and I like the fact that you can fine tune the TV to your hearts desire. Black levels look good as well. The TV cabinet is well designed and the sound quality is good. SD channels look alright, better then most of the sets that I have seen out there. There is some motion blur on sports but not near as bad as the entry level Sony and Samsung TVs.

The bad...

As I stated before it does having banding. Don't fool yourself into thinking you will get one with out it, they all have it. I mostly notice it when I am watching football and the camera does a fast side to side pan. I have read that a lot of people have problems watching hockey because banding that is caused by the ice. The remote is not very good. It wont control my Phillips DVD player or my Sony receiver. For some strange reason it does work with my Motorola cable box.

If it weren't for the banding this would be a 5 star TV. I have had it for about 3 weeks now with no other technical issues. I will update this review if any think changes

Cheers

4 Stars Nice....But, a few issues others failed to mention
Just got this TV yesterday. Was actually shopping for a DVD upconverter. But decided to upgrade the 2 yr old Insignia 32" 720p.

I like the quick/easy approach, so the First thing I noticed when I tried to hook up my surround speakers was that there is no Headphone jack! Even though that is mentioned on Amazon in the description as a feature. So now I hope I can find some type of cable to convert the RCA outputs for My speaker system. I don't expect to upgrade to a new surround setup just for that. If I find any other workaround I'll let you know.

Also I was trying to figure out if I had the latest firmware revision. The manual says to go to Menu/Digital Setup/Identification. Well, how about...this option doesn't exist! So I don't know if I need an update or not. I suppose I have to guess. (I only get the software update option.)

This upscales Std Defn. better than most TVs I have seen, not as grainy. But I am still having a tough time adjusting the greens out of this thing just like the one I noticed in the BB store. I hoped it was just the way they had adjusted theirs. Also, it is amazing how different the video looks based on the source material. For instance, I was watching a News broadcast the first night and they had 2 interviewees on a split screen. It was amazing how degraded and molten one half of the screen looked and the other half looked decent.

Speaking of which, the blacks, yes they are very black, but my picture often looks too black. I have tried adjusting contrast and brightness various ways, but I'll still get a scene where I feel like it's too dark to see the action. No banding yet. Maybe it's just me.

I am planning to try one of those "Digital Video Essentials" DVD's that were mentioned on one of the forums.

One other thing I seldom see mentioned. These make the most AWESOME PC monitors!! I love seeing my photos so large and using MediaPlayer visuals! I don't ever see much info on this type of usage. But that RS232 jack is Gold in my book. It was even amazing on my old 32". But I did expect this newer, higher-end TV to handle a resolution finer than 1024x768. Hope I just missed a setting somewhere. I'll call Cust. Svc. this week and check them out.

Good luck All !

4 Stars Great tv
Beautiful picture, but then our last "new" tv was 10 years old. Only complaint - it will not pick up most of the current digital stations offered by our local channels. Sharp says the problem is with our antenna, which is not that old.

5 Stars Very Pleased
The TV is great , the delivery was outstanding and the delivery was on time

1 Star Save your money, buy a Sony
I've wanted an HDTV for a long time. Ever since I set my eyes on the crisp picture and vibrant color that high definition had to offer I was determined to have one. So after years of waiting and saving I finally decided I was going to take the plunge. I took the time to do my research and after a month or so of comparing reviews and staring aimlessly at in store floor models I decided that the Sharp Aquos 46 inch LCD HDTV was exactly what I was looking for. After all, it was a quality product that got great reviews at a comparable price, how could I possibly go wrong?

After I bought my television I took it home and carefully unpacked it, plugged it, turned it on and basked in all the glory that Sharp had to offer. For a short time, the relationship was a good one. I came home and it dazzled me with a crisp fluid picture, superior sound, and a full 1080p resolution, I was in love. A whole new world was at my finger tips, Dirty Jobs never looked so dirty, I was totally smitten. Then suddenly without notice, everything changed.

The screen went black and the sound went off. This happened in 20 to 25 minute intervals. Frustrated, I did what every good consumer would do, I called customer support. Naturally they walked me through all the obvious troubleshooting steps, is the TV on? Is the power chord plugged in? Is the sleep timer on? No, no and no. Twenty five wasted Verizon minutes later they decided they were going to send out a tv repair man to resolve the issue. Keep in mind, at this point I'd owned the TV for one month. The repairman determined (on the phone) the problem was the circuit board. How can you determine the solution to a problem without physically diagnosing it? Initially, after the parts were replaced everything went smoothly. The TV, by all accounts, was running full steam...at least for a little while.

Within three days, the screen went black and the sound went off...again. I sat on my couch perplexed, how could Sharp put out such a subpar product? What ever happened to the customers always right? After all I owned the product for little over a month, don't I deserve a new television? I guess not. Suffice to say I'm not happy. Tomorrow I'll call Sharp again, and most likely they'll be sending out ANOTHER repairman to not fix my television. So if I could give you one piece of advice it's this, save your money and by a Sony.

5 Stars A great TV for me
I personally love this TV and the picture and sound that it gives. However I must state that the TV it was replacing probably should be in a museum. We have not as of yet upgraded to HD service and are still working on our usual cable service. love the picture which is a huge upgrade from what we had before. Personally the speakers are also great for me but again that is most likely because of where we started from before we got this TV. I love the fact that I am able to have both my DVD player and my Wii hooked up at the same time. The graphics when playing the Wii are great. The colours are crisp and bright. I would recommend that you change the colour settings to what you like as soon as you get it as it makes a huge difference. For the price I would say this was a great TV I am sure if you are worried about the specs etc then yes you could do better but you would also pay a lot more too.

4 Stars "B+" LCD HDTV
I also have a Sharp 20 inch LCD HDTV (non-Aquos) which I have enjoyed for 6 months. I would give it an A-. The 20 inch was purchased to replace a 20 inch Sony Trinitron (analog tube TV). I really needed a bigger screen since I typically sit about 8-9 feet away from the screen. This new 32 inch LCD HDTV is just right. However, it seems to be MUCH darker than the 20 inch Sharp. I had to adjust the settings to get the screen where I wanted it. Now I feel the picture is just shy of a Samsung or Sony, but the Sharp price combined with the internal HDTV and QAM tuner pushed me to the Sharp. It is easy to use and the stand is quite strong (no wobbling). Overall I am very happy with my Sharp TVs.

5 Stars Perfect
This TV is amazing. Perfect size for my bedroom and beautiful image. Sound quality is mediocre but a $80 pair of speakers will fix that. Overall this is worth every penny.

5 Stars Awesome HDTV.
This TV is my very first HDTV purchase, so to say my HD upgrade.

Sure, it isn't 1080p, but it gets up to 720p, which is, in my opinion, good enough for the money you'll spend on this TV. The menus are slick and simple to navigate and the inputs are all clearly marked. (Some of the inputs go in on the back, while others, like HDMI, plug into the side.)

To put it straight: If you are looking for a good intro or upgrade to HDTVs, then I'd really recommend this TV. It is perfect for a bedroom or for some living rooms. It is a sleek, good looking TV and is well worth the money spent on it.

4 Stars Sharp Picture Works Great!!!
This has been a Great product No Problems,Easy to Hook-Up.Not as Clear as a Plasma but For a LCD HDTV I think it has a High Quality Picture.
